Sometimes the world is so amazing, it’s hard to find words to describe it. In these situations, since I have no words, I look for the next best thing: something to make me laugh. And I don’t know if it’s because I communicate so well with my inner child or what, but there is one thing that always makes me laugh: poo.

In this case, I am referring to a 14,000 year old human shit found in an Oregon cave. This is just one of the great stories Gizmodo has had on the site this week, and in my mind, definitely one of the most interesting.. After all, what better way to get rid of the here and now than by reading some really old shit? At least you’ll have a funny, albeit slightly disgusting, science trivia once you’re done.

Another great read, which is also unrelated to the current state of the world, analyzes the subject of the human brain. More specifically, he asks the experts what a acceptable substitute for the human brain if the zombies came for a walk. The answers – eggs, macaroni and cheese, and tofu – will surely surprise you.

Finally, Gizmodo also touched on an important topic that many of us can relate to: the sweltering heat outside. While it might be normal this time of year in places like Texas, my home state – in fact, it’s pretty hot all year round except a few weeks. “winter”-it is definitely not normal in Siberia, which has experienced a crazy heat wave this year. The guilty? Climate change.
